What to expect
As trainers, we take everything about the dog and their environment into account when forming a training plan. We ensure that every single strategy we use during training can be implemented into your lifestyle as an owner, and reasonably maintained after our time as client and trainer is over.
All training will take place during sessions at the guardians home. We offer in home training because we believe that many of the core elements of training through boarding are lost when the dog returns to their old environment. This is why we bring the change to you!
Your journey with us will start with a brief customized questionnaire and a complementary digital consult (15-20 minutes)
Questionnaire and Consult
Prior to scheduling a consult we will ask a list of basic questions about your dogs habits, daily routine, medical history, what you’ve tried in the past to remedy the behavior, how the behavior presents itself, and more.
Virtual consultations are 15-20 minutes. These consults are complimentary but they must be accompanied by a real life consultation before training begins. A virtual consult is only utilized to make sure that the pet parents and trainer have a similar goal in mind and a basic understanding of the role of a trainer.
In person consults will typically be around 30 minutes. During this time your trainer will observe your dogs behavior and their environment. we will assess your dogs knowledge to determine the best training plan for them.
at this point your will receive an estimate of how many sessions your dog may need as well a timeline. This is subject to change based on how consistent guardians are with maintenance training.
Training Sessions
we believe that our place as a trainers is intended to be temporary. From our first session to our last, we provide written instructions and custom hand outs tailored to your dogs needs and goals. These sheets make for easy reference and can be utilized after the training course is completed.
Pet parents will be assigned “homework” to complete with their dog on a daily basis. This homework is subject to change during each phase of the program. In order to stay on track during the course pet parents need to be committed to completing their homework assignments.
Outside of your designated training sessions our team will be available over text message. We are available to answer questions and provide guidance, and if necessary gap bridging sessions can be scheduled prior to your next booked session, to ensure that your dog stays on track.
